The smart thing to do would be to get out there to help keep everyone in line. The chances of Nika truly having things under control were slim at best. Right now, there was too much tension swimming between too many different people for her to be on top of things. She’d need Sara’s help.

As more people started to arrive, Sara was grateful the Siskins had a large house with plenty of bathrooms. She’d been able to salvage he makeup in the bathroom she’d fought with Michael in without anyone bothering her. She didn’t look as good as she had when she first got there, but if nothing else, people would just think she was coming down with a cold.

Hi, y’all.
I thought that since today’s the first day of a shiny new month that it was as good a time as any to give you a little update about changes going on at Your Littlest Sin and with me.
So, basically, lots of changes are in the works. I’m looking forward to getting back in the full fiction swing of things around here. I hope to make it worth the wait for y’all.

Sara watched the look of momentary truce fly between Michael, Veronica and Lincoln before Lincoln said, “It doesn’t matter.” Then the truce died. “What matters is that you tried to have sex with my girlfriend!”
“We were drunk. It doesn’t count.” He met Sara’s gaze for a split second and quickly averted his eyes. “Besides, we didn’t actually sleep together and you weren’t together at the time. Ignoring the lingering drowsiness spreading through her satisfied limbs, Sara forced herself to dress quickly. This whole thing was ridiculous. No one ever liked being snowed in, but her friends had planned to stay the entire weekend anyway. With the exception of Jane – whose annoyance she understood – the rest of them had no reason to be melting down like this was the last civilization on Earth.

Something was wrong. She could sense it the moment she opened the bedroom door. There were no sounds of running water. Sara had spent long enough talking to Nika that Paul should already be in the shower by now. What the hell was he doing?

Against her will, Sara felt guilty about what she was doing. From the stack of bridal magazines, she looked like one of those women who’d secretly been planning her wedding even though she hadn’t found the groom yet. In reality, any thoughts of wedding planning – or even having some semblance of a normal life – flew out the window the night her mother died and the night Michael broke her heart.

Two days after the incident in the park, Sara was still upset about it. Nika was like a sister to her and they’d been friends for as long as she could remember. Never in all that time had they gone this long without speaking. The silence and averted eyes whenever they passed each other in the halls at school was painful. It didn’t feel right.

Sara stared at the closed door for a full ten minutes. What the hell was she supposed to do with that? Clearly, she needed more to work with than the word of some pissed off chick she’d only met for the first time yesterday. Jane didn’t even know Paul. Why could she possibly think he was going to shatter her heart?
