LWLU – Painful Conversation

Sara ducked into the bathroom to get away from all the chaos outside. This was possibly the worst party she’d ever been to. Why couldn’t she just have one normal conversation without things turning strange?

It probably had something to do with the fact she had a public boyfriend and a secret boyfriend, both of which currently had their attention focused on their actual girlfriends. [Read more...]

LWLU – Forgotten Present

The smart thing to do would be to get out there to help keep everyone in line. The chances of Nika truly having things under control were slim at best. Right now, there was too much tension swimming between too many different people for her to be on top of things. She’d need Sara’s help.

But Sara didn’t hurry.

LWLU – Love Triangle?

“So what the hell is going on here?”

It was a valid question. Between everything with Paul and Michael and her own strange behavior, her friend deserved to be confused. Hell, Sara was in the middle of it and she was confused herself. [Read more...]

LWLU – Testing Limits

As more people started to arrive, Sara was grateful the Siskins had a large house with plenty of bathrooms. She’d been able to salvage he makeup in the bathroom she’d fought with Michael in without anyone bothering her. She didn’t look as good as she had when she first got there, but if nothing else, people would just think she was coming down with a cold.

Or that she was stoned. [Read more...]

LWLU – Like Family

Why did it feel like she spent more time in the shower or bath than anything else this weekend? This was supposed to be a party, not a lesson in personal grooming. Then again, none of her friends were treating this like a celebration of her birth.

It was more like a battlefield.

Scratch that. It was an [Read more...]

Site Announcements and Updates

Hi, y’all.

I thought that since today’s the first day of a shiny new month that it was as good a time as any to give you a little update about changes going on at Your Littlest Sin and with me.

  • I’m participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year, so I’ll be stretched pretty thin during the month of November while I attempt to write 50,000 words on a brand new novel in a mere 30 days. No bonus chapters on any story this month.
  • Love Will Lead Us returns during November, but I’m not sure exactly which week just yet. It will be in the middle or towards the end…that much I do know.
  • During the month of November – and possibly longer – the posting schedule is changing. Updates to The Alliance will now post on Tuesdays and Thursdays and updates to Love Will Lead Us will post over the weekend (either Saturday or Sunday, not both).
  • In early 2011, the paperback release schedule for my novels will begin. If you wanted a hard copy of a story in the past, details are coming. (This does not include fan fiction since I don’t own the characters and am not allowed to profit from them. I respect copyright laws.)
  • As some of you have already noticed, the author name on the site has changed. Don’t worry, it’s still me…just a different version of me. ;)
  • Want to learn more about about the craft of fiction writing? Look for details this month about my new author site for tips on how to overcome writer’s block, build plots and create characters.
  • If you’re interested in the new fiction project I’m working on, details are on the way. In fact, if the NaNo site wasn’t spazzing out today, I’d include the information link for you right now.

So, basically, lots of changes are in the works. I’m looking forward to getting back in the full fiction swing of things around here. I hope to make it worth the wait for y’all.

LWLU – Wrong Man

“It’s been too long.” Impatient fingers trailed up her thigh under her skirt, while hot breath set the skin of her neck on fire.

Sara scowled at him and pushed his hands off her leg. “I know, but not now. Not here, Michael.” She shoved against his chest to put space between them to no avail. He wouldn’t budge.

With a sigh, Michael [Read more...]

LWLU – More Skeletons

Sara watched the look of momentary truce fly between Michael, Veronica and Lincoln before Lincoln said, “It doesn’t matter.” Then the truce died. “What matters is that you tried to have sex with my girlfriend!”

“We were drunk. It doesn’t count.” He met Sara’s gaze for a split second and quickly averted his eyes. “Besides, we didn’t actually sleep together and you weren’t together at the time. For once, Nika’s right. You’re both making a big deal about nothing. I was only trying to help by mentioning it in the first place.” [Read more...]

LWLU – Skeletons Revealed

Ignoring the lingering drowsiness spreading through her satisfied limbs, Sara forced herself to dress quickly. This whole thing was ridiculous. No one ever liked being snowed in, but her friends had planned to stay the entire weekend anyway. With the exception of Jane – whose annoyance she understood – the rest of them had no reason to be melting down like this was the last civilization on Earth.

What was wrong with everyone? They’d been there for one night, not two years. [Read more...]

LWLU – One Truth

“What, angel?” He caressed her cheek. “What is it?”

She sighed and dropped her gaze. “Making you wait the six months like you were just some guy I met at college was pointless.” [Read more...]

LWLU – Another Fire

Something was wrong. She could sense it the moment she opened the bedroom door. There were no sounds of running water. Sara had spent long enough talking to Nika that Paul should already be in the shower by now. What the hell was he doing?

Jane’s warning echoed through her brain. Against her will, she closed the door behind her with only the faintest of clicks. Everyone in the house was accounted for, so that could only mean he was on the phone with another woman. [Read more...]

LWLU – BS Excuses

“Why does some guy I’ve never heard of want me to come to his party tomorrow night so he can kick my ass?”

Sara looked up from the mound of books she was using to research for a class project and tried to make sense of what Paul was doing in her history class. “Huh?”

The librarian gave them a stern look, so Paul [Read more...]

LWLU – Hot Shower

Against her will, Sara felt guilty about what she was doing. From the stack of bridal magazines, she looked like one of those women who’d secretly been planning her wedding even though she hadn’t found the groom yet. In reality, any thoughts of wedding planning – or even having some semblance of a normal life – flew out the window the night her mother died and the night Michael broke her heart.

Of course, both those things happened on the same night… [Read more...]

LWLU – Mending Fences

Two days after the incident in the park, Sara was still upset about it. Nika was like a sister to her and they’d been friends for as long as she could remember. Never in all that time had they gone this long without speaking. The silence and averted eyes whenever they passed each other in the halls at school was painful. It didn’t feel right.

Nothing about the entire situation with Sucre felt right. [Read more...]

LWLU – Conclusion Jumping

Sara stared at the closed door for a full ten minutes. What the hell was she supposed to do with that? Clearly, she needed more to work with than the word of some pissed off chick she’d only met for the first time yesterday. Jane didn’t even know Paul. Why could she possibly think he was going to shatter her heart?

Wait. If Jane knew something about Paul, it would have to be something that happened over the past few days. But that couldn’t be. She’d been with Paul the whole time.

Except for the times when she was alone with Michael… [Read more...]
