LWLU – Secret Rendezvous
“You really have no idea how much I love you, do you, Sara?”
“You’re just saying that.”
“When are you going to figure out that I’m not one of those guys who only says it to get what he wants?”
“I dunno, Michael. Later. I’m going to be late for my criminal justice class if I don’t get out of here.” She tugged at her skirt and ran her fingers through her hair. “How do I look?”
“Beautiful, as usual.”
She sighed. “Be serious. I need to know if I look like a girl who just had sex with her boyfriend in the theater department prop room.”
Michael caressed her cheek. “I don’t have a frame of reference to answer that for you. I’ve never seen anyone I knew just had sex in here before.”
“You’re not really helping me get the courage to go out there.”
“Well…” He pressed her back against the wall. “I never said we couldn’t stay in here for the rest of the day.”
Sara pushed him away. “You have a one track mind, Scofield.”
“I know.” He grinned. “It’s your fault. I can’t handle not being with you for weeks at a time.”
“I can’t control that my parents want to spend time with me.”
“It makes me regret not spending more time with you the day after your birthday. If you didn’t insist on all this secrecy, I could just take you out on a date like a normal couple.”
“Just give me a little longer, okay? This is important to me.”
The bell signaling the end of lunch rang. “If it’s important to you then it’s important to me.” He kissed her hand. “But I don’t want to wait too much longer to tell everyone. I want us to be 100 percent official.”
“Soon. I promise.”
She placed her hand on the doorknob, but Michael stopped her from opening it. “Can we do something this Friday night? Lincoln’s going to be out with Veronica and Dad’s away on business again, so we’ll basically have the house to ourselves if you don’t want to go out.”
She smiled. “I’d really like that. I’ve missed you a lot.”
She slipped out of the prop room and hurried in the direction of her class. It was a good thing she thought to take her books with her to lunch or there was no way she’d get to class in time. Her locker was on the other side of the building.
Maybe it was time to let everyone know they were dating. Although they usually spent a lot of time together as friends, everyone was bound to notice the way he looked at her whenever they were together. Besides, they were in love. People in love shouldn’t need to sneak around and keep secrets like this.
“I need your help again, Sara,” Paul said the moment she walked through the door to class.
“Okay. What’s going on?” Other than the occasional hello when they got to class at the same time, they hadn’t spoken since he brought her home from the bowling alley.
“You have to come to the movies with me on Friday night.”
“I do?” If this was him asking her out, his technique was certainly lacking.
“I don’t know how he did it, but I heard Sucre telling this other guy at work that he’s going out with Nika again on Friday night.”
That was odd. “Are you sure? She hasn’t said a word about this to me.”
“Yeah, I’m sure. She probably didn’t tell you because of what happened last time.”
“Well, she’s probably smart enough not to go off alone with him again and a movie theater is a public place.”
“He’s taking her to the drive-in.”
“Oh.” That changed things. Did she really want it to get around that she’d gone to the drive-in with Paul Kellerman? “Why do you need me to go? You should be able to keep an eye on them alone.”
“Probably, but I’m going to stick out in the crowd. If I were out on a date, I’d notice the creepy guy sitting in his car alone checking out another couple before I’d notice the guy on a date who spends more time looking at her than the movie.”
He had a point. She sighed. “Okay. What time are we going?”
“7:30. So you’ll go?”
“Yeah. I don’t want to see my friend get hurt by that guy again.” Maybe they’d see a short movie and she could get out of there in time to spend time with Michael afterwards.
She just needed to figure out what to tell him. She couldn’t tell him she was going out with another guy. Telling him about the situation with Nika wasn’t a good idea because he already didn’t like her as it was. Besides, if she told him about the Nika situation then she’d have to tell him about the double date she went on with Paul.
Somehow, Sara doubted dating Paul was what Michael had in mind when he told her to give the guy a chance.

Thanks for the extra chapter. Perhaps it was even the victim of Sucre Sara, you posted a chapter and I managed to keep the mystery that bad (for we have no idea what is happening) good for narrativa.BOM WORK
Thank you for this extra chapter!
It’s always good to see a MiSa moment
But Paul! stay away from Sara!
Thanks again! i’m looking for more as usual
Glad I could work in an extra chapter this week. Who knows? Maybe I’ll find time for another one before Friday.
What a nice surprise!!!! Any MiSa interaction is good!!!!!
Michael comes across as being totally besotted with Sara….it seems like there is no way he would EVER cheat on her. Can’t wait to find out what the hell happened there…….
So Sara’s insistance that their relationship be kept secret is gonna bite her on the arse me thinks!!! *taps chin* mmmmmm…..wondering if Paul is on the level here. I doubt that Nika would go out with Sucre again after last time…well I guess you never know – some people can surprise you! – so I wonder if this is an offhand way of Paul asking Sara out??
You’ve done it now hun……I’m just DYING to read more………*hugs you for the extra chappie* And maybe even another one – oh be still my beating heart….lol….xxx
Yeah, the way he’s acting does make the whole thing come across as a giant misunderstanding, doesn’t it?
You know, this is one of those places where writing a chapter from another character’s point of view would really clear up that question…but that’s now how this story goes. Hmm…I could probably tell you if he’s on the level or not, but does anyone really believe a word I say since I’m totally evil?
I got totally sidetracked reading through the sequel to Freelancer last night (4:30 this morning…didn’t remember how quick those short chapter-ettes go by), so I’m hoping I can keep that file closed tonight and remember to open this one for another extra chapter.
