Foresight is Flawless – Chapter 84

Certainty is one of those elusive things that probably didn’t exist outside of fiction – or at least that’s what Price had been telling himself ever since he got into his car. Though it was time to own up to the way he’d left things, it would be nice to have some idea as to the way Skylar would react when she opened the door to find him standing there. If nothing else, Price hoped she would listen to him when he warned her about Eric.

The hotel grounds were nearly void of guests. It was still light out so it was logical to assume most of the guests were still out on the lake. That was a good thing. If Skylar wouldn’t listen to reason and come with him of her own volition, he was prepared to take her by force.

He knew he was over-thinking this. It was a waste of time to dwell too long on the question to which he’d soon know the answer. Besides, this sort of apprehension wasn’t something that was normally part of his personality. Skylar had really thrown him for a loop. He was an absolute mess without her.

But he was about to get his answer.

If he remembered the layout of this particular hotel, he was standing at the back of her bungalow. Beads of perspiration popped up on his forehead that had less to do with the stagnant heat of the evening and everything to do with the woman on the other side of the wall. Price paused to collect his breath while he looked down at the single stem red rose in his hand. He wasn’t sure how long he stood there, staring at the rose. What he was sure of was what he saw through the window when he looked up.

Skylar was in the arms of another man and it didn’t look like the sort of thing he needed to interrupt. The flower fell from his fingers, already forgotten. He should have picked up the phone months ago.

He drove around for a long time after that – not looking at the scenery, not hearing the radio, not thinking about the feel of Skylar’s skin or the scent of her hair. Just driving. Price didn’t make the conscious decision to end up in front of this particular house; hadn’t even thought about it in years. Memories bubbled up to the surface and he realized this might actually be the one place he had left to go.

His legs carried him to the door without his permission. He felt the door against his knuckles before he knew he’d knocked. The door opened and a pair of beautiful violet eyes widened in surprise.

“I don’t know that I ever expected to see you again, Price. When was the last time? The day of our wedding?”

Again, I won’t bore you to tears with reviews – even though I know you like them lol – but I am also pushed for time,………so…….suffice to say that things are really heating up here!!!!

I am glad that Skylar’s pregnancy has been confirmed – at last – but it seem as if it is really coming to the pointy end of things!!!

I am on the edge of my seat with wondering what Erics evil plan will entail!!!

I am sorry for the lack of response here, RL has been a bitch!!

My Dad has been diagnosed with cancer in his kidney (my parents live interstate), and has to have it removed – obviously.

The operation is scheduled for the 16th of February, and as my Mum doesn’t drive(I KNOW – can you imagine?!?!!), I am flying down to be with them for the operation, and to play chaufeur for as long as needs be. Not sure at this point if any Chemo is gonna be on the agenda – I guess we will know more when they see what they are dealing with………

As mentioned before, my parents do not have internet (remember they are the ones who have vowed to go to the grave, having not used a computer…*shakes head*).

So…..I will try and catch up here when I can in the meantime, but I will be gone by about the 13th, and not sure when I will be back.

I am hoping that this riviting story will not be over by the time I return, but of course if it is, then I will say “great story hun” in advance!! LOL!!!

Between work and parents – aarrgghhhhh!! But I won’t let it beat me – and I will try to pop on here when I can – and if not – you know why…….

Just thought that I would touch base so that you didn’t think I had fallen from the face of the earth LOL!!!

    Catch you when I can…*hugs*

Yep, we’re at the point in the story where things start to get a bit dicey. The last section of the epilogue goes live on Friday, April 13, so I’m not sure if you’ll still be gone at that point or not.

I’m so sorry to hear that. :( I do hope the operation goes well and it’s a speedy recovery.

I actually can imagine not driving. Hubby normally drives so I’m rarely the one behind the wheel. The freedom to get other things done during a commute is nice. Although…it would be strange if I literally couldn’t drive myself if I needed. I don’t think I’d like that at all.

Here’s hoping RL calms down soon. I could use a break in my neck of the woods as well.

      *hugs*

Arghhhh! You are absolutely killing me here! Poor Price…but why oh why couldn’t he look a second longer and see she was crying?

So Price is married…and showing up at his wife’s place for what looks like a booty call :( :( :(

All I can do is hope she kicks his butt to the curve after vanishing on her for over two years…

This doesn’t look good for my favorites :( :( :(

If you were in his position and watching that, would you really want to keep watching on the chance it wasn’t an innocent thing? I wouldn’t want to see more.

Oh ye of little faith. Maybe it’s not a booty call. Maybe he just wants to tuck in his kids for the night. You know, tell a quick bedtime story before he goes back on the con.

So many frowny faces in your comment, so little time…But we’ll see. One happy ending per story.

      Maybe.
