Hello and welcome to Your Littlest Sin. Some of you may already know exactly what this site is all about because you received an invitation from a different site. Others may have run across me purely by accident. Regardless, you may well be wondering what an online fiction site is doing with a name like Your Littlest Sin.
Well, you could ask my best friend, Star, but I’ll be nice and answer that so as not to inundate her inbox with the same question over and over – though that would be sort of fun for me…
When I was deciding on a name for the site, I knew I wanted more than just jnicolewhitten.com for the actual fiction I’d be posting. (jnicolewhitten.com is, however, on the way since every author really needs to have their own website to talk about how awesome they are, right?) More than wanting something beyond my name, I wanted something that would represent my body of work in an unusual way. As I do with virtually everything I’m trying to decide, I tossed the question over to Star.
So, yes, Your Littlest Sin is really her doing; however, she’s going to comment and say that if I hadn’t gotten her hooked on “The Feel Good Drag” by Anberlin then she wouldn’t have had that line stuck in her head while doing laundry in the first place. *shrugs* It doesn’t matter who thought it up, really; it matters that the name is perfect for my purposes.
Consider the word sin. What comes to your mind? Murder? Sex? Crime?
Evil?
All these things can be found in my writing to varying degrees. All the little sins – and the big ones – are the spice that make it worth reading. Or at least, that’s my hope.
But why Your Littlest Sin? Simple. Don’t we all have other things beyond reading tugging at our limited time? When I consider all I should be doing when a book is instead in my hands I can usually find a way to rationalize it in such a way that it’s more than just my own selfishness. Perhaps reading is my littlest sin…but it would be awesome if it were the biggest.
So, I do hope you’ll enjoy your time spent here reading about my characters while they engage in all their little sins. Look at it this way, it’s better than going out there and committing them for yourself, isn’t it?
