Raptor knew the moment the man walked into the room that it was Parker Ramsey, back from the dead. He didn’t know what he was doing here or why he was dancing with Skylar Montgomery, but he knew he didn’t like it. Why had Ramsey chosen now to reveal himself?
Until tonight, his concern about Skylar’s reappearance in the world was only mild. Now…well, he may have to deal with her before the next heist, just to be on the safe side.
He maneuvered through the crowd to get a closer look at Ramsey as the couple danced. It was him. There was no doubt about it. The question wasn’t if this man was Ramsey, but if Ramsey knew who he was.
Raptor went to the bar to get a drink, a stiff drink. One glance at Chelsea was all he needed to be certain it was Ramsey. She looked shaken.
As he leaned on the bar to accept his drink he whispered, “You look like you’ve just seen a ghost.” His hand brushed against her bare shoulder. “Why ever could that be?”
She glared at him, hatred burning in her eyes. “You’re an ass,” she whispered back before she walking away, the material of her red dress hugging her ass as she moved.
Raptor smiled and turned his attention back out to the dance floor. Chelsea’s response to him never failed to amuse him, much the way a new toy amused a small child. Soon enough, her appeal would wear off as well.
God help her when that moment came.
But he couldn’t dwell on the things he could do to that firm ass just now. If Ramsey was back from the dead, something was going to happen tonight. He would just have to find a way to isolate him from the rest of the crowd before it did.
Raptor had never liked witnesses.

Yep, doing a chapter a day this week…just to give you a pre-holiday present.
