I came home tonight to a flooded house with standing water throughout. Until I can get everything squared away, all story updates are on hold. I think it should just be a week’s delay – I hope! – but I suggest you sign up for the email feed to ensure you know when posting resumes.
Thanks for your patience.

Nope, I’ve actually been living here with hubby and three cats from Day 1. It’s only one story in the house, so every single room is part of the reconstruction. We’ve just been going in zones.
Big day tomorrow. Wait for it…I’m getting the door back on my home office…of course we’re also getting kicked out of our bedroom the following day for who knows how longs so…trade-offs.
Here’s hoping all the crossed fingers pay off and we can stay on schedule for the next two weeks.
Hope all is well with you.

Great to hear from you!!! I came on here today to send some more good thoughts your way…….and ‘voila’!!!!!
Glad to hear that it’s getting there…..what a massive inconvenience to have to deal with. Were you still living in the house?? I sort of assumed not at first – due to the damage, but then I wondered: if only the downstairs was affected??….then you mentioned respiratory infections??…..so I thought maybe you were still there……..
Anyway, I’m glad to hear that things are on the improve, and that you are getting a bit of time off at the end of the month to relax and hopefully enjoy your re-birthed home *crossing fingers with you* *hugs too*
Slowly but surely, it’s getting back to normal. House is about 60% done – I think – and I’ve got some time off scheduled near the end of the month to enjoy some quiet time around house. (Fingers crossed it’s done and furniture’s in.)
Looking forward to getting back to writing this week or next.

Hey there sweetie!!! Sounds like crazy times indeed!!!! I hope that everything goes smoothly for you with your obviously massive home repair!!
Just sending my best wishes for you all, obviously including Sydney cat…..that is something you surely do NOT need, and that is sickness on top of everything else……
Thinking good thoughts for you hun…..hope things are back to some kind of normal soon…*hugs*
Thanks Deb. It’s been a total nightmare. It ended up being 28,000 gallons of water above and beyond our normal monthly usage that flooded the house. 10s of $1,000s in damage to personal property, 10s of $1,000s in damage to the house. Jay and I have had respiratory infections for weeks we can’t seem to shake and Sydney Cat now seems to be sick as well.
Like I said…nightmare.
At least now we have a contractor to help speed along the insurance claim process. I think work will finally be underway soon on my poor ruined house. I’m hoping to get back to writing after Monday’s holiday, but I feel like I just can’t get caught up right now. Crazy times…I probably need the fiction break more than I realize.
Hope all is well with you.
